A bunch of sketches from the commute - I'm behind on my scanning! Some more people:
Somehow this one ended up looking like a hair salon:

My (almost) trip to San Francisco
So I was supposed to be in San Francisco this weekend, but Alaska Air had a "computer glitch": The system that does all of the weight and balance, lists who's on the plane, etc. went down for 8 hours. This means that absolutely no plane anywhere with an Alaska tail on it was flying. Of course, you couldn't tell this because their automated e-mail system was still sending out mail saying "your flight is On Time!" and the reader boards all said "on time" because they didn't get the message saying "Delayed." I was this close to getting a flight out at 4, but between the time the agent saw the flight and she pushed the button, someone else grabbed it. The next choice was to fly from Seattle to San Francisco via Salt Lake City and take 5 hours getting there. I was not about to get trapped in Salt Lake so I opted to get a refund and go some other time. Big Thumbs Up for Expedia - I had booked my hotel through them and even though the hotel policy is that if you don't cancel by noon the previous day you eat it, Expedia gave me a full refund. Possibly because they also have Price Line as their clearance rack, but whatever the cause I got a full refund on everything except half my day.

You are a strong noodle
The sun graced us with its presence and it was actually pretty warm (mid-50s?) so I rode over to Gasworks where there was the usual: A wedding shoot, kite flying, acrobatics, skateboarding, and people just hanging out. The acrobatics was some sort of lesson with great quotes like "you are a strong noodle" and "if you move, I'll drop you."
Other folks just enjoyed the view:

New toaster oven
My new toaster oven arrived and I celebrated by testing it out on an Amy's pizza. Nice cooking job, although I do worry about the fact that EVERY page in the owner's manual says "fire hazard - unplug when not in use."
On the up side, this one goes "bing" when done, which is better than the "chirp" and "thwack" of some previous toasters.

S'more commuters
That bottom one is better because the traffic was worse - we were going slowly enough that I wasn't bouncing around while drawing!
A Good Little Toaster
There was a spark, a zap, a funny sort of electrical smell, and it was all over.
I'll wait until the sun sets before I click "Complete Order" on Bed Bath and Beyond.com

Commute and a Starbucks
A few more commuters today - including some especially bad drawings and a case of villainitis (that's where I somehow manage to turn you into a Disney villain)
And just for Mel, at lunch I went over to a Factoria Starbucks (there are two about 500 feet from each other) and sketched there. The gal at the next table seemed to be talking to her lawyer - I grabbed little phrases like "Does he have a DUI?" and "you'll need evidence."
