Arastradero

Found a new hike today with a friend I haven't seen in a long time.  She had the four-month-old (part of why I haven't seen her in so long) in an all-terrain baby stroller.  And you needed all-terrain.  Lots of up and down on unpaved trails, which you share with mountain bikes and horses (I need a shower).

Beautiful spot. Some yellow flowers coming up and she said that the whole place blooms and there will be fields of poppies.  Looking forward to going back.  Plus, it's the first time in over a month that I've done something other than pack or unpack!

An Observer at the Courthouse

If you're on jury duty in Redwood City (or visiting That Roommate from College at the jail) I have a painting on display at the courthouse. That's it there, the one with the deer. Go through the metal detector and down the stairs (follow the signs to the cafe) and it's down the long hall toward the jury room.  Not the sexiest gallery, only open Mon- Fri 8a-5p, and certainly the first time I've had to go through a metal detector to drop off a painting for a show!  But it’s my first show in California so I’ll take it.  Also, everyone who serves on a jury in the next few months will see it.  There’s actually a lot of art in the show – it was an open call to women in San Mateo county celebrating Women’s History month.  And for an open call, it’s all fairly good quality.

Morning rainbow

I might have elves living across the street - they seem to have a rainbow coming out of their chimney.
