Happy Birthday Mike!

It's not actually today, but he got the paintings so I can post them now.  Watercolor (and sometimes ink) 5x7.

A lake and lichen

Another lovely day, another ride to Water Dog Lake Park.  This time after riding up...

I went down and around the lake a little and stopped in the shade for a sketch.

All I had with me was a little 5x7 sketchbook and a ball point pen, but I really like the sketch.  Here's the view:

And a panorama of the lake:

And some cool lichen:

Everything but Elvis

Well, let's see, today had an eclipse, a new moon, and the equinox.  And Michael Jackson was on Cal Train.

Yup, this guy was decked out in the outfit, hair, makeup and did the moves on the train.  More eyebrows than I remember Michael J having, but there you go.

There was also some nice scenery by The Bay

Some epic clouds

And I polished off the day with tacos (not pictured).  Not bad.

Beautiful day at Water Dog

Gorgeous day today.  Went for a little ride at Water Dog Lake Park.  Spent some time just enjoying the silence and the wind.

3.14.15

Happy Pi Day folks!  I went to a Pi Party at a friend's house, who both a math geek and a baker.  Her kitchen is amazing, and there were at least 20 different pies for the 40ish people.  Meat pies, chocolate pies, apple pies, and other goodies.

The pi banner that she made:

The chalk boards - yes - that she has on the cabinets in her kitchen showing the list of pies and her recipes.  There is a grocery list on another one off to the side (paper towels and vodka):

Some of the sweet pies:

Some savory dishes such as round cheeses with crackers, round dip servers, and rectangular spanikopita, which we forgive its shape because it tastes so good:

The tiles on the backsplash in the kitchen.  Yes, folks. those bars spell out pi:

Oh Deer

There!  Under the tree!  Three of them!  Nibbling away.

They didn't seem to care too much about me.  They watched me as I walked by (looking for my own tree to get out of the sun) but went back to nibbling.  First time I've actually seen any, although I know folks who live up here who say that they see them all the time.

I love walking through the woods and seeing the light through the trees:

And the view:

And down at the bottom, by the playground, there are some lovely pink blooms:
