Trains and tacos
A few more train people - eating breakfast and drinking beer.
Mijita was this afternoon - tacos for lunch at the Ferry Building. Then I stopped at the fountain sculpture thing that actually had water in it! I think this is the first time I've seen it in its fountain form.
Broiling hot today - like in the 80s! But cool-ish by the water.

Some Mondays and Tuesdays
Here's last Monday and Tuesday, er, I mean Tuesday and Wednesday (since Monday was a holiday):
And this Monday and Tuesday
Today is my birthday - and we get cookies at work! They were so busy with stuff for our office move that my cookies were late, so one of the guys I work with went down and got them and delivered them himself while singing "Happy Birthday" - very cool. Then I watched the transit of Venus - it looks like someone poked a hole in the sun. You can check out some photos from around the world of that on SpaceWeather.com.

Tiemens workshop day 1
I'm taking a workshop this weekend from Erik Tiemens - a painter who's work I admire: http://www.virtualgouacheland.blogspot.com/ Today was only a half day and started with a slide show of great drawings and watercolors, followed by us doing some warm-ups with just thumbnails of imaginary landscapes and playing with the paint to get a feel for it. A few of them I like and some should be shot.
Then we went up to the top of the hill above Fort Mason to do some sketches that we're going to paint from tomorrow. It was blowing a gale and someone was having a wedding up there. The ceremony was short and I'm sure the attendees were happy to get indoors to a hot toddy.
